The Innovation Support Unit (ISU) improves the health of British Columbians by supporting innovation and improvement in primary care. This is accomplished by collaborating with primary care programs and projects in our province and by connecting academic knowledge and our faculty with these projects.
We help apply evidence and develop new services and knowledge. Our methods actively improve the chances for success of these programs and projects by leveraging our unique expertise and position at UBC as an academic health systems partner.
ISU Workstreams
Primary Care Transformation Support
The ISU offers a range of mapping supports that help clinical teams, Primary Care Networks, and communities work better together. This includes Team Mapping for clinical teams and PACC Mapping for communities and regions.
Team-Based Care (TBC) Advisory
The ISU works alongside a number of organizations as part of the Team-Based Care (TBC) Advisory Group. The purpose of the Team-Based Care Advisory Group is to provide province-wide support for the implementation of high quality team-based care.
Evaluation
The evaluation workstream supports communities, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders with primary care evaluation across British Columbia.
